Anti-Aging Face Oils

When it comes to anti-aging ingredients, the last thing most people would think to use is oil on their skin. Using oil on the skin isn’t a new idea, but it has recently making a huge splash in the world of beauty. Many oils contain high amounts of antioxidants as well as vitamins and minerals plus, are super hydrating to nourish the skin.  Surprisingly, there are some pretty amazing naturally occurring oils you can add to your skin care arsenal to combat the signs of aging!

Rose Hip oil is one of the best anti-aging oils you can use on your skin and for good reason. It’s high in vitamin A, which stimulates healthy skin cell production. It also helps to smooth fine lines, fade brown spots and scars. Rose hip oil is packed with beta-carotene and lycopene, which help to fight off free radicals making it a powerful antioxidant.

Pomegranate Seed oil is deep red in color and contains bioflavonoids, which are a powerhouse of nutrients for the skin. The dark color in pomegranate oil helps to protect the skin against sun damage and as we all know is a huge contributor to aging.

Jojoba oil may be a tricky word to pronounce but it’s one of the most hydrating and nourishing oils there is. Jojoba is actually considered a wax and is very similar to the natural oil in the skin.  As we age we stop producing as much oil in our skin, this can lead to dryness and more pronounced wrinkles. Jojoba will balance the natural oils in the skin and hydrate where needed when our skin stops producing as much oil on it’s own. Jojoba oil is also very anti-inflammatory which can alleviate redness and calm the skin of rosacea sufferers.

Marula oil is an ancient oil from the nut inside the marula fruit and originates from South Africa. This oil is full of antioxidants and high in omega-3 and 6. This means they protect your skin from environmental damage from the sun and pollution. Also, it has a small molecule that means the oil absorbs into the deeper layers of the skin truly hydrating and nourishing the skin. If you are still prone to the occasional breakout marula oil is also wonderful for acne since it has antimicrobial properties.

Many of these oils may be purchased on their own and mixed together for a custom blend. A face oil may just be the wrinkle reducing, glow inducing boost your skin needs!
